THE ACTRESS:

I am an Irish, classically trained actress, graduating from what is now the LIR program in Trinity College. This was an intensive full time actors program where we were trained in acting/voice/movement. I went on to attain a Masters in Theatre & Performance from Trinity College in more recent years. I have performed in most Irish theatre venues and have performed roles ranging from Shaw to Shakespeare. I spent my earlier years doing stand-up/improv comedy before moving to the more serious business of acting. I am best known for my theatrical performance of James Joyce’s iconic Molly Bloom for which I have performed and received critical acclaim throughout Europe for many years. I have been honored to have performed at such venues as Symphony Space, Broadway, as special guest at Mansion House Dublin, at Nantucket Theatre Festival, James Joyce Centre Dublin, to name a few. I have been sponsored by Culture Ireland as a performer of this show as part of Imagine Ireland where I toured to the USA. Further Joycean works include my adapting/directing and performing in James Joyce’s The Dead as part of Dublin City of literature. Recent performances include Anouilh's Antigone(Antigone)  Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit (Inez) and Paulina from the powerful Ariel Dorfman's Death and the Maiden. Upcoming performance Molly bloom, Bloomsday on Broadway, Symphony Space, Broadway. Upcoming performance at the wonderful American Irish Historical society.

THE CLASSICAL SINGER/SOPRANO:

Spinto Soprano  (Conservatory of Music, DIT, Dublin). I have performed as a Solo Soprano guest performer at Edgerton Performance Arts Center, Annual Bloomsday Bike Rally (Shelbourne Hotel), The Dead Centenary Celebration (House of the Dead, Ushers Quay), Kanturk Arts Festival (Arts Center). I have sang the title roles of Madama Butterfly and Tosca at MOS Festival, Italy. I have performed in concert at the Bruno Walter auditorium, Lincoln Centre, American Irish Historical society, NY, in concert series at St John's in the village, NY, as well as recital concert series at St Boniface, Brooklyn, NY.

Favorite roles  include Leonora (La Forza del Destino), Tosca, Aida, Madama Butterfly and Suor Angelica.  I have performed with Brooklyn Opera, sang selected operatic scenes including with NYDV as well as performances  with NY Opera Forum and Fusion Theatre Concert series. Recent performances have included A Nght at the Opera co-starring American Tenor Byron Singleton with musical direction by  Maestro Brian Holman at Opera America, New York. The journey and love of music continues to grow and evolve.

THE DRAMA TEACHER/DIRECTOR:

I directed my first plays as a twenty two year old at Taibhheairc na Gaillimhe, Galway. I directed Ernie’s Incredible Hallucinations and An Maidrin Rua. My star actor was the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins’ son, also called Michael. I went on to direct a number of plays in my earlier years, Brian Friel’s Lovers, Harold Pinter’s Old Times, James Joyce’s The Dead. In more recent years I have directed Antigone (Fusion Theatre), No Exit (Fusion Theatre) to critical acclaim. As well as directing I have also worked as a freelance drama/voice teacher for the past number of years. Many of my private students are professional actors. I focus on the primacy of the text and aim toward an ease of performance where actor’s own tensions are not carried forward. Techniques such as the Alexander technique, meditation are invaluable tools to every professional actor. My background in singing assists with vocal warm up/exercises and ultimate freedom. I am available to teach privately. I have been a member of the Guild of Irish Drama Adjudicators for a number of years and am also available to adjudicate. As well as my private studio I also taught acting technique at AMDA Conservatory, NYC
